EVERTON, Mo. – A 16-year-old boy from Lockwood drowned Monday at Fiddler Ford's Conservation Department access area near Everton in Dade County. Search crews looked for Collin Hardenberger's body on Monday afternoon but called off the search at sunset. The search resumed Tuesday but Hardenberger's body was not found, as of 11:45 a.m.
The Missouri State Water Patrol says Hardenberger and two friends -- Perry Ellis and Ray Suniga, both of Greenfield -- launched a canoe at Four Ott Corners Post and were floating to Fiddler's Ford. About 200 yards from the takeout point at Fiddler's Ford, the canoe hit a log and capsized.
One friend swam to shore. Hardenberger and the other friend grabbed onto the canoe and floated it downstream about 200 yards. At that point, the two decided to let go and swim to shore. The friend had just about made it to shore when he heard Hardenberger yell his name. He looked but Hardenberger was gone.
This is the article that was posted however I can only find it due to the fact that someone had it
copied and pasted to their Blog. I am friends with a relative of this person on face-book. We have
done an investigation of Fiddlers Ford However we didn’t get to do a very thorough job as we
kept being interrupted by people stopping in. I have also had a personal experience there with a
flash of light from an unknown source and I documented it the night it occurred. We did an EVP
session and took some photographs. I believe this place needs a thorough investigation done
especially now that more research has been done on the location.
I personally know how to get to this location however I’ve included a map below of the
general area and directions can be easily found via Google maps as it is pinpointed.
My personal sighting log is listed below as well.
`May 25th 2010 Fiddlers Ford. Personal Sighting..(Possibility)
My Wife and I were sitting down at fiddlers ford talking because we were board and after being there for a little while. I noticed a bright flash of light under the rail bridge about midways between the pylons and mid ways between the rail bridge and the water. it looked as though someone flashed a flashlight for just a sec,, then was gone...the light was bright enough that at first I thought a car was coming however after looking at the angle in which the cars would be coming I found that to be impossible....Could be something could be nothing however I have recorded the date/day/and time just for future reference...it was May 25th 2010 on a Tuesday at exactly 23:45...(noted)
